Troubleshooting Firefox 5 and delicious bookmarks
Firefox 5 is here, and the problem described here appears again.
Use the same “cure”: change “4.*” to “5.*” and enjoy!
In the (unwitting) upgrade to Firefox 5, the folder that contains the Delicious Bookmarks folder was deleted. All I had in the "extensions" folder was the *.xpi file.
I had to copy the Delicious Bookmarks folder over from another computer, delete (move) the *xpi file, and change the max version value in the install.rdf file in the Delicious Bookmarks folder.
It's a pain, but at least Delicious Bookmarks works again.
My "subfolder" turned into a file: {2fa4ed95-0317-4c6a-a74c-5f3e3912c1f9}.xpi
I changed the file extension to zip, opened it and changed the rdf file. I had to save the rdf elsewhere and copy it back into the zip. I changed the extension back to xpi, drug the xpi into the FF window, and it installed.

It does not work. There is no folder and no "install.rdf" file to edit.

thanks, works like a marvel again, indeed.... I will have to "bookmark" this tip for next update, just not on delicious obviously ;-))
It worked for me just as described in the linked advice... Thanks!
It does not work!! I did what you said.
Should I change it to 5.* rather than 5.0b3pre
can post here the content of your .rdf file?
Yes! This worked fine for me and I'm on a Mac.
